What is the Indiana law concerning seat belts?
Indiana has a standard or primary seat belt law. You can be stopped and ticketed for failing to wear your seat belt.
What is the Indiana law concerning child restraints?
Any child up to and including children seven years of age must be properly fastened and restrained, according to the child restraint manufacturer's instructions, by a child restraint system. Youth eight years old until they reach their 16th birthday must be properly restrained in a child safety seat or safety belt in all vehicles, in all seating positions, including vehicles with truck plates. It is strongly recommended all children be placed in the rear seat of the vehicle, where it is safest. This law took effect on July 1, 2005.
