As Sheriff of White County, I am proud to offer the citizens of the community a Sheriff’s Office that is highly skilled and trained in a variety of law enforcement divisions. Currently the Sheriff’s Office offers services to our citizens such as: Uniform Patrol, Investigations, Drug Task Force, Service of Civil Process, Juvenile Investigations, Court Security, Jail Operations, Prisoner Transportation, K9 Units, Crisis Negotiations, Reserve Organization and a well qualified Training Staff.

Missing & Explointed Children

I have worked in all of the areas mentioned above at one time or another during my tenure with the White County Sheriff Office. One division that is no longer attached to us and is a separate government entity is Communications. Before it was taken onto its own, I had duty assignments in this area as well. My intimate knowledge of each and every area of the Sheriff’s Office serves me well as your Sheriff. I have done the job of the officers I am now leading and am proud of the services we provide to the citizens of this community.

I hold the following certifications:

  • Jail Officer
  • Indiana Law Enforcement Academy graduate
  • Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Primary Instructor
  • Scuba diver
  • Arson Investigations
  • FBI Crises / Hostage negotiator
  • Drugs and Narcotics / Undercover Operations
  • Adult / Child Abuse
  • Communications
  • Public Relations
  • As well as many more credentials too numerous to mention

I am deeply honored to serve as your Sheriff and will continue to strive to improve our office and the services we offer you. Rest assured myself and the other dedicated men and women of the White County Sheriff’s Office stand ready to protect and serve you.

                    Sheriff John I. Roberts
